Bring Your Whole Self to Worship

Psalm 42:5
"Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God.

Some Sundays you arrive ready to shout. Other Sundays you arrive carrying something heavy. Scripture makes room for both.

The psalmist did not pretend his soul was fine. He acknowledged his discouragement and then preached hope to himself.
Worship does not require you to deny what hurts. It gives you somewhere to bring it.

You do not have to manufacture happiness before entering God's presence. Bring the tired you. The disappointed you.

The questioning you. The grateful you. God can handle the whole you.

Here's the challenge: Have you been pretending in worship instead of allowing God into what you are actually fee

Action Step: Before worship today, name honestly what you are carrying and consciously bring that emotion into God's presence.

Have a hopeful and Victorious Sunday
